Demography
- In twenty years we will have twice as many elderly for half of child ... In 2015, more than 50 years will be the majority in our country.
- 1.8% of French people over 85 years, more than a million people, their number is expected to reach 2 million by 2020.
- We now know that Alzheimer's cases will double in 20 years.
dependence
- 30% of octogenarians living homebound, 8% do not leave their chair or bed.
- Nearly 700,000 people suffer severe disability for the acts of daily life.
- Today, dependence has been the face of Alzheimer's disease. She is originally from 50 to 60% of addiction, against 25% last another 20 years.
- There is now only 50 geriatric services for 207 hospitals.
Caregivers
- 75% of sick dependents living at home with family care.
- Half of those aged 75 and above are supported.
- 8 out of 10 people helped are helped in their family.
- Three-quarters of caregivers are women, 45% of girls and stepdaughters and 27% of wives.
